BugFeatures is now live - but what is it? In a nutshell (bugshell?) it is a free add-on for any Web site that allows users to report bugs and submit feature requests. Your visitors click a link or button which opens a little Ajax window inside the page (not a pop-up). They enter the details of the bug or feature and click "send it". Then you get the information emailed to you.
To use BugFeatures, you juste paste a few lines of code into your HTML. There is no sign-up process or downloads - just configure the code with your email address and it works automatically. Note that your email address is obscured so it won;t attract any attention from spammers.

( 3 / 38 )It's always a tricky thing to do. Writing the first post on a blog. Fortunately it only has to be done once and no-one will ever read it anyway (well, except those of us reading it now).
So what is this site all about? Originally, the idea was to write a simple Web application to allow users of my memetic marketing product (Send2Friend) post feature requests and report bugs. I was coming home from my morning run around Pratten Park (the old Wests home ground) and had an epiphany. When I got home I discovered the domain name was available and BLAM the rest is the future.
So, I wanted to start a blog to share my discoveries as a "Micro-ISV" and also provide a few tips for those trying to promote their site(s) on the cheap. This is what I am doing and also what my Send2Friend product attempts to do for others.
So here it is, the beginning of an inevitable wealth of knowledge and, like my morning run, may possibly go something like this:
* Starts easily with seemingly effortless progress
* After about 1km, I begin wondering whether I will ever make it
* After 2kms I start negotiating an early abandonment of the project but, luckily, by the time I am ready to sign a deal with myself I am approaching 3km
* The last 1km is the hardest mile, so to speak, but I am glad I perservered in the end.
So, in a nutshell, I am hoping that it all turns out analogous to my morning run, or else I am in trouble.
